NHTI, Concord's Community College
Assistant to Academic Centerfor Excellence and Academic Advising
Hourly Rate Range: $16.49 - $20.22
SCOPE OF WORK: To provide administrative support to ACE and Academic Advising at NHTI, Concord's Community College. This position reports to the Associate Vice President of Student Success & Enrollment at NHTI.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Provides ACE and Academic Advising with general administrative support, including filing, correspondence, photocopying, and scheduling appointments;
  • Provides proficient computer skills including knowledge and experience with technology platforms such as Outlook, TEAMS, Zoom, Navigate, Banner (NHTI's student database), and SIS.
  • Processes materials for ACE and Academic Advising including registration forms, drop slips, rosters, etc., and files and distributes, as needed;
  • Maintains current knowledge of all ACE, Advising, NHTI policies and procedures;
  • Responds to phone and email inquiries coming into ACE and Academic Advising
  • Provides information to students, faculty, staff, and the general public relating to college procedures and policies in a positive and professional manner;
  • Assists with ongoing and special projects in ACE, Academic Advising and in other offices, as needed.
  • Greets and triages students seeking support services in ACE and Academic Advising on both a drop-in and appointment basis.
  • Complies with all college, system, state and federal rules and regulations;
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Completion of high school or G.E.D equivalent, including courses in office procedures, word processing, or typing. Each additional year of approved formal education maybe substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience: Two years of experience in an administrative support position, one of which shall have been at the level of Secretary I or its equivalent.
License/Certification: None required.
RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Knowledge of modern office equipment and methods of operation. Knowledge of business English, spelling, and arithmetic. Knowledge of office practices and procedures. Ability to type a variety of correspondence and statistical material and reports with speed and accuracy. Ability to maintain confidential information. Ability to maintain fiscal or departmental records. Ability to research records and prepare reports. Ability to work independently. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college appointing authority.
