Assistant Tennis Professional

Norfolk Yacht and Country Club is seeking a dedicated and skilled Full-Time Assistant Tennis Professional to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate should have a passion for tennis, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional service to our members.

Responsibilities:

 1.    Tennis Instruction: Provide high-quality tennis instruction to individuals and groups of all ages and skill levels. Develop lesson plans, conduct clinics, and offer private lessons to enhance members’ tennis skills.

 2.    Program Development: Assist in the development and implementation of tennis programs, including but not limited to junior programs, adult leagues, and social events. Collaborate with the Head Tennis Professional to create engaging and inclusive activities for members.

 3.    Court Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of tennis courts. Report any equipment issues promptly and work with the facilities team to ensure optimal playing conditions.

 4.    Member Engagement: Foster positive relationships with club members. Address member inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally. Organize and participate in social events to promote a sense of community among tennis enthusiasts.

 5.    Tournament Coordination: Coordinate and organize tennis tournaments and events. Ensure smooth execution, including scheduling, participant registration, and awards ceremonies.

 6.    Skill Assessment: Conduct player assessments to determine skill levels and tailor instruction accordingly. Provide feedback to players for continuous improvement.

 7.    Stay Informed: Stay abreast of current trends and developments in tennis coaching and instruction. Attend workshops, seminars, and training sessions to enhance personal and professional growth.

Qualifications:

    •     USPTA or PTR certification preferred.

     •     Previous experience as a tennis instructor or Assistant Tennis Professional.

     •     Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

     •     Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

     •     Knowledge of tennis equipment and court maintenance.

     •     Passion for promoting tennis within the community.
