Assistant Tennis Instructor

The Chattooga Club is in the southwestern mountains of NC in the town of Cashiers. This beautiful private club has 3 har-tru tennis courts, 3 dedicated pickleball courts, 2 regulation size croquet lawns, a putting green, bocce court, spa/fitness center, a lodge with 7 suites, a private dining-room, pavilion/bar, pool, kids camp, members garden, and all among the backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Chattooga Sports Director/Head Professional is looking for an assistant to bring energy and expertise to the tennis, pickleball & sports program. The assistant pro will work under the sports director to help drive the tennis programs for members of all ages. The assistant pro should have some past experience working independently with both adults and children privately and in a group setting. We are looking for an individual at college-age, “Instructor” level through the “Professional” level of certification.

The club provides housing (w/ a modest rent that is taken out of a bi-weekly paycheck) and thus, needs own means of transportation to and from club. Daily lunch is also provided. The assistant pro will be provided appropriate attire (please note: this club has an all-white attire dress code). The assistant pro will be paid an hourly rate when not on court and a commission rate when teaching clinics and private lessons. The director will manage the clinic and lesson schedule of the assistant pro. The expected work week is between 30-40 hrs (sometimes more during holidays), with at least half or possibly more of that time being on court. The assistant will also assist Kids Camp 1x/wk with a sports specific activity.

This seasonal position is available from Memorial Day-Labor Day (w/ flexibility on either end).

This is a part time/seasonal position with a starting hourly rate (when not on court) of $15 (or more), depending on level of experience, and a commission rate of 50% – 60% on lessons.
