Summary
Sweet Water Cafe is seeking a full-time Assistant Team Manager. The Assitant Team Manager is responsible for overseeing day to day operation of the café working closely in a supervisory role overseeing scheduling, monitoring productivity, and providing feedback to ensure employees are providing the best experience possible to guests. Responsible for monitoring budgets, including expense, sales, profit margins, and inventory. The position is based in South Sioux City, NE.
Essential Functions
  • Oversee scheduling of team members and be able to quickly find replacements in the event of a team member being absent.
  • Oversee staffing needs of the team; hiring and terminations.
  • Monitor budgets to ensure that the café remains profitable.
  • Actively find ways to lower operational costs while expanding the café's customer base.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory by preparing and performing weekly and monthly inventories.
  • Trains or supervises the training of all new team members adhering to Sweetwater training policy.
  • Assist in the training and development of new Assistant Team Managers.
  • Coach and mentor under-performing staff to improve their skills.
  • Complete credit card charge transactions per operating policy.
  • Order merchandise or prepare requisitions to replenish merchandise on hand.
  • Assist with sales promotions activities, the pricing and notification to all employees of such activities.
  • Ensure all team members are fully trained and adhere to local, and state regulations.
  • Responsible for cafe cleanliness and maintains store appearance and product representation to company standards.
  • Ensure customer's needs are met, resolve complaints, and customer service is the focus of each employee.
  • Implement strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales, and increase profitability.
  • Implementing and executing delivery services.
  • Able to complete all daily paperwork as required.
  • Maintain a favorable working relationship with all employees to promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment in order to facilitate positive employee morale, productivity, and continued improvement.
  • Team Manager is to the development and execution of all standard operating procedures.
  • Consistently seeks ways to improve operations and efficiency and makes recommendations to operations team.
  • Coordinate and directly supervise all catering and events ensuring margins are maintained.
  • Attend industry specific and leadership training as assigned.
  • Has full knowledge of POS (Point-Of-Sale) and back of house systems.
  • Research industry trends and make suggestions for new products and menu items.
  • Perform duties of subordinates, as needed.
  • Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

This position has supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds.
  • Occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time must be able to push and pull up to 40 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to work indoor conditions 90% of the time.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Evening and weekend work required as job duties demand.
Travel
None required for this position.
Experience
Five (5) or more years relevant experience and/or training.
Experience preferred with serving large groups, events and/or caterings.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  • Must represent the company in a professional manner and possess leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills and ability to deal effectively with a variety of people and situations
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • High degree of poise and professionalism when interacting with internal and external contacts
  • Ability to prioritize workload, solve problems quickly and interact with others to achieve efficient, seamless workflow
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office programs and other miscellaneous business software
  • Maintain a valid Driver's License and be insurable under company insurance provider/program
  • ServSafe certification required during the first 90 days.
