Job Description: Assistant Teacher

Position Overview:

As an Assistant Teacher at Greensboro Global Academy, you will play a crucial role in our mission to provide a supportive and enriching educational environment for temporary students. We seek experienced, dynamic individuals with a diverse background who can facilitate our educational program.

The successful candidate will be bilingual in English and Spanish and must have previous experience in a diverse, multicultural school setting. Teachers should be flexible, adaptable, empathetic, creative, and possess excellent people skills. We seek exceptional problem solvers and critical thinkers who can foster a healthy organizational culture and climate.

Assigned Responsibilities:

• Serve as a substitute for Teachers when a substitute cannot be found.
• Assist P.E. Coaches with the delivery of physical education.
• Assist with the delivery of lesson plans.
• Assist with the assessment of students.
• Be culturally sensitive with students.
• Assist with tutoring students one-on-one.
• Be able to apply classroom management techniques.
• Assist with student documentation such as report cards, assessments and progress reports, incident reports, daily attendance, and other clerical documents.
• Assist with creating bulletin boards in classrooms.
• Assist with inventory, purchase, and distribution of teaching supplies and materials.
• Strong collaboration and organizational skills.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• HS diploma and a minimum of 48 hrs. of higher education.
• Must have at least two years of school experience or ORR experience.
• Willing to consider trainers with HS diploma and at least five years of training experience.
• Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Must have moderate experience with various software systems, including MS Office.
• This position requires prolonged standing and sitting and a possible brisk pace in physical education. It may require lifting up to 30 lbs, such as P.E. and audiovisual equipment.

Compensation and Benefits

• This is a 12-month position, and the salary is commensurate with experience and education
• Salary range: $42,000 – $53,000

Other:

• Must pass a drug test, have a federal and state background check, and have NCDHHS criminal checks.
• Must have legally resided in the USA for at least the last three years.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $42,000.00 - $53,000.00 per year
