Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources 2024- 2025
Details of the position
Direct Report of the Associate Superintendent of Administration
Contract Days: 230 days
Salary: $130,000-$150,000
Minimum Education and TrainingMaster's Degree in Education Administration with certification in administration and the superintendency.
At least 5 years of experience as a school principal or administrator or a combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the job.

Under limited supervision and in collaboration with the senior leadership team, this position supervises and evaluates the Human Resources and personnel functions for the District including, but not limited to hiring, investigations, certifications, and benefits. Serves as a member of Senior Leadership.

Specific Duties and ResponsibilitiesRecruitment and Retention-this responsibility includes the following but is not limited to the following:
Working and Collaborating with IHE to build relationships and create opportunities for teacher pipelines
Establishes Recruiting Calendar for the District based on needs assessment
District Job Fairs
Recruiting and Onboarding Process (background checks, reference checks; etc.)
Induction (First Three years)
Evaluations
Working with Finance on Salary Structure and Competitive Pay
Preparing employees for retirement
Retention work with leave policy and relationships
Innovative Practices for Teacher Recruitment - Payscale, Housing, Childcare, Incentives
Position Control- responsible for maintaining and overseeing Position Control records for each location. Includes management of posting, hiring, resignations, terminations, salaries, and approvals.
Personnel Issues and Concerns-this responsibility is listening to all parties' concerns and collaborating to arrive at the best possible answer for students, staff, and the district. Encapsulated in these responsibilities include Title IX, grievances, and policies.
Benefits-this position supervises the department in regard to retirement and insurance for all employees.
Encapsulated in this is the leave component of FMLA, the Employee Assistance Program, and working retirees.
Title IX and Policies - will serve as the district's Title IX coordinator, and will revise/update policies as needed.
Other Responsibilities
Facilitates the hiring process for administrative personnel at the building level and above
Staffing Ratios and Forecasting personnel needs based upon enrollment and programs.
Facilitates RFP process as needed for HR software, life insurance needs, 403 (b); etc.
Resource for principals regarding staffing and personnel matters
Oversees position control, SC Educator, PERFORM, and applicant tracking
Supports other employees and departments in budget conversations, staff development, placement of student teachers and federal programs
Provides information, reports, and guidance for all departments as needed
Creates handbooks, guidelines, and procedures to support the district
Works with Substitute Management Company
Attends hearings and depositions on behalf of the District
Prepares information for the School Board of Trustees as needed-Specifically Personnel List for approval
Stays abreast of current and new laws and regulations, statutes, rules, and policies impacting assigned areas of the District
Coordinates and supports leadership development through cohorts and professional learning opportunities
Attendance at monthly board meetings or other district functions
Other duties as assigned
