Job Title: Assistant Store Manager

Position Overview: Are you ready to be the driving force behind our lumber material store's success? As the Assistant Store Manager, you'll be at the heart of our operation, collaborating closely with the Store Manager. Your role will encompass overseeing daily operations, managing inventory, delivering top-notch customer service, and being a key support in achieving our sales and customer satisfaction targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Store Operations:
- Assist in managing and directing the daily operations of the store.
- Delegate and supervise inventory management, safety compliance, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Communicate sales and profit targets effectively, ensuring team alignment and support.
Staff Management:
- Partner with the Store Manager to shape employment-related activities, including hiring, communication, motivation, discipline, and employee separations.
- Set clear objectives and expectations for team members, ensuring they are consistently met.
Sales & Relationship Building:
- Foster the growth of our inside sales program by ensuring the timely completion of estimates and material take-offs.
- Cultivate existing customer relationships, providing outstanding service.
- Establish new customer connections, follow up on sales inquiries, monitor delivery schedules, and adeptly resolve customer inquiries and concerns.

Operations:

- Maintain a well-organized and efficient store layout to elevate the customer shopping experience.
- Monitor and optimize inventory levels to meet customer demands and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
- Collaborate with team members to schedule shifts and allocate resources effectively to meet operational needs.
Safety:
- Enforce safety requirements and policies to foster a secure working environment for both employees and customers.
- Regularly conduct safety inspections and audits to identify and address potential hazards.
- Ensure consistent adherence to safety training and protocols by all team members.
Inventory:
- Effectively manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and restocking products as needed.
- Conduct routine inventory audits to maintain accurate stock levels and prevent discrepancies.
- Collaborate closely with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely deliveries and optimal stock availability.
Planning:
- Develop and execute plans to achieve sales and profit targets set by the company.
- Create and implement strategies to boost sales and profitability, taking into account market trends and customer needs.
- Work in collaboration with team members to plan and execute marketing and promotional activities that drive sales growth.
Education and Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of managerial experience, preferably as a Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.
- Two years of related experience in the industry is required, with a strong preference for construction experience.
- Progressive management experience is essential.
- Knowledge of the organization's philosophy, mission, leadership, and planning needs is preferred.
