Erin's Elderberries is seeking a qualified and outgoing member of the community to join their team as an Assistant Store Manager. Manager must be willing to learn all aspects of the floor, including learning about all EE products and makers represented in the shop, learn how to make coffees (Barista), and all food served at EE. Candidate must possess a strong compassion for their community, a want to see their community thrive and a personality that loves people and children.
Core Responsibilities:
- Assist the Store Manager and Owner in daily operations and management of the store
- Ensure excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers, resolving customer complaints, and providing product knowledge
- Supervise and train store employees, including conducting employee orientation and providing ongoing coaching and feedback
- Manage inventory by overseeing stock levels, conducting regular inventory counts, barcoding, and placing orders as needed
- Maintain store appearance by organizing merchandise displays and ensuring cleanliness and tidiness
- Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to meet sales targets
- Handle cash transactions and operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately
- Collaborate with the Store Manager to develop and implement marketing initiatives or drink specials to drive sales
-Serve as a sales team member when needed, Barista or any front of house needs that may arise while on shift.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in retail management or as an Assistant Store Manager preferred
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
- Knowledge of store operations, including stock management, purchasing, and cash handling procedures
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with good phone etiquette
- Proficient in using POS systems and other retail software applications
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, and weekends. Schedule will be negotiable, however, the Sunday shift, 7:30am-1:30pm every Sunday, is nonnegotiable.
-Commitment to stay at EE for a period of no less than 18 months.
