Assistant Store Manager

Location: St. Thomas, USVI

Salary: $65,000 USD (negotiable) + relocation assistance + temporary accommodation + bonus potential (up to 20%) + health benefits (medical, dental, and vision) + 401K and other great benefits

We are seeking an Assistant Store Manager to serve as the second-in-command, reporting directly to the Store Manager. The Assistant Store Manager will oversee a team of four Managers and play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our high-volume supermarket.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Store Manager in all aspects of store operations, including staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service.
• Provide leadership and guidance to department managers and staff, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork.
• Collaborate with the Store Manager to develop and implement strategies to drive sales, increase profitability, and enhance the overall customer experience.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as local regulations and safety standards.
• Monitor performance metrics and financial targets, taking proactive measures to address any issues or opportunities for improvement.
• Cultivate strong relationships with customers, vendors, and community partners to promote brand loyalty and community engagement.
• Act as a role model for excellence in customer service, professionalism, and integrity.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a second-in-command or Assistant Store Manager in a high-volume supermarket environment is preferred.
• Experience managing a team of managers is highly desirable.
• Candidates with a background in club warehouse retail (e.g., Sam's Club, Costco) will be given preference.
• Strong knowledge of bakery and produce operations is preferred.
• Must have a proven track record of achieving results in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Caribbean experience is not required but considered a plus.
