Responsibilities:
- Work with the Division Manager to review performance metrics to track progress and continuously adjust strategies to achieve area goals in light of changing market conditions.
- Oversee the functioning of the location in the absence of the Division Manager
- Assists Outside Sales Representatives (OSR) and all Inside Sales Support personnel in preparing complete and accurate estimates, orders, special orders, and will-calls.
- Promptly, effectively, and professionally assists customers over the telephone or sales counter.
- Expedite the resolution of customer concerns and complaints to maximize customer satisfaction.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge through product training, vendor seminars, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Directly manage all Inside Sales office personnel. Carries out supervisory responsibilities including training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years in wholesale or building materials industry
- Minimum of two (2) years as a supervisor or manager
- Knowledge of payroll, budgeting, and inventory control processes
- Familiarity with market trends and customer preferences
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The Assistant Manager supports the Division/Sales Manager in all aspects of operations to achieve results that are aligned with the larger picture of the company and strategic goals. The position is responsible for front counter functions, transaction processing, and retail store inventory management while monitoring and leading a team to ensure excellent service to internal and external customers.
