Assistant Spray Supervisor

Job Summary:

This Assistant Spray Supervisor will help maintain a crew of 6 to 12 sprayers, helping to transport equipment, sprayers, and chemicals. The Assistant Spray Supervisor may be expected to assist in other departments during slow periods. The Assistant’s duties will include the following:

Position Responsibilities:

• Receiving chemicals from chem supply companies
• Maintaining and tracking chemical inventory
• Working with Crop Department Managers on executing spray recommendations
• Recording spray applications using Aprecs Software
• Ensure sprayers are taking proper care to clean and maintain sprayers
• Report and work with shop managers to fix broken equipment
• Calibrate and adjust nozzles, discs, and cores to meet appropriate GPA and coverage settings
• Train new sprayers and order PPE
• Ensure proper mixing order and efficient and timely spray execution
• Schedule sprayers as needed
• Haul equipment and sprayers to and from distant fields/ranches

Other Responsibilities

• Ability to maintain shipping/receiving records, quality records, etc.
• Ability to prepare routine administrative documentation.
• Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
• Preparing and distributing daily production documentation.
• Ability to provide a simple analysis of data sets.
• Stacking goods in the correct storage bays, following inventory control instructions.
• Checking loads to ensure they are stored in a safe and a secure manner
• Collecting and stacking empty pallets with a forklift.

Education, Experience & Requirements

• High school diploma or educational equivalent
• 1-3 years of work-related experience or training
• Forklift certification
• Spanish/English speaking (preferred)
• Good math, language, and reading skills; basic computer required
• Must be able to work flexible hours / shift to meet the production needs
• Pesticide applicator License (Preferred)

• The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Use hands and fingers to grasp, move, or assemble objects.
• May be exposed to loud, cold, hot, dusty environments.
