Product Development:
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop new food products or improve existing ones, considering factors like consumer preferences, market trends, cost, and nutritional value.
- Research and experiment with new ingredients, formulations, and processing techniques.
- Conduct sensory evaluations and product testing to ensure quality and taste.
- Partner with marketing and other departments to bring new products to market.
Research and Analysis:
- Stay up-to-date on food science advancements, industry trends, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct research on specific food challenges, such as improving shelf life, reducing food waste, or developing sustainable packaging.
- Analyze data from experiments and tests to draw conclusions and make recommendations.
Project Management:
- Manage R&D projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to deadlines and budget constraints.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, production, and quality assurance.
- Document and communicate project progress and results.
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of food science principles, including ingredients, processing methods, and food safety regulations.
- Experience with laboratory equipment and analytical techniques.
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Additional Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in food science, nutrition, or a related field (higher degrees may be preferred for senior positions).
- Experience in food manufacturing or R&D (length of experience varies by position).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Creativity and innovative thinking.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
