BHHKC is looking for energetic, passionate, and motivated team members to provide care and support to our clients and their families. We work with the client and family in diverse settings - homes, school districts, residential homes, mental health facilities - and in partnership with many service providers and members of our client's advocate team.

Behavioral Health Kansas City is located in the Greater Kansas City, MO area. is a comprehensive behavior analytic service provider committed to the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and Positive Behavioral Intervention & Supports. We provide services to individuals with a variety of disabilities varying from 18 months through adulthood. BHHKC address the needs of families, schools and agencies by conducting assessments, developing and providing intervention and providing training.

Assistant Program Manager, Residential Support
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for supervising the daily operations of residential or crisis locations and management of staff at the designated location(s). Demonstrates the qualities of a role model for all employees and ensure all daily tasks are completed in an appropriate and timely manner.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS/Key Accountabilities: (Other duties and projects will be assigned, as necessary.)
1. Responsible for training and supervision of all staff within the assigned locations, with the guidance of the Program Manager.
2. Responsible for displaying confidence, maturity, flexibility and professionalism when working with staff, the individuals we serve, families and community contacts.
3. Conducts regular fidelity checks in the residential or crisis location(s).
4. Communicates regularly with Program Manager on all relevant matters concerning both individuals and staff.
5. Conducts 30-Day performance reviews with supervisees.
6. Completes on-the-job training for all new hires and submits documentation in a timely manner.
7. Schedules annual mandatory trainings for all supervisees.
8. Address and document performance and conduct issue with supervisees.
9. Manage attendance and "Point System" for all supervisees.
10. Ensures proper documentation is taking place by supervisees (shift reviews, data, etc).
11. Ensures appointments are attended and completed; Submits documentation.
12. Maintains all binders of the assigned location(s).
13. Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all reports and deadlines.
14. Ensure compliance with all DMH guidelines by working with the Program Manager.
15. Attend all required meetings.
16. Responsible retaining staff.
17. Assist in an on call rotation.
18. Work with clinicians to ensure all Behavioral Plans are implemented with fidelity.
19. Provide strong leadership and motivation for staff.
20. Will work shifts weekly to maintain ratio for locations.
21. With the assistance of the Program Manager, monitor all medication administration to individuals, record keeping of medications, participation in necessary appointments, and ensure all proper documentation is retained.
22. Maintain the staffing ratio at all times by staffing the locations accordingly.
23. Utilize scheduling program to schedule for assigned location(s); sticking to standardized schedule and managing overtime using appropriate tools (variance and flash report audit, etc).
24. Provides approval and ensures accuracy of supervisee timecards.
25. Problem-solve situations and communicate quickly and effectively to involved parties regarding any problems and/or concerns.
26. Communicate to the Program Manager any maintenance and repairs of the home, equipment, and vehicles.
27. Places orders for groceries and household supplies.
28. Completion and submission of PSA and G&S documentation.
29. Ensure the health and safety of all individuals.
30. Will perform other duties as required by the Program Manager as necessary.
31. Will assist at other locations as needed.

DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS:
1. Follow company policies and practices regarding proper documentation for employee relation situations.
2. Conduct required fidelity checks in the home to ensure compliance with expectations and programs.
3. Review and submission of all required documentation for compliance and organizational expectations.
4. Ensure DSPs complete necessary paperwork.
COMMUNICATION AND PERSON CENTERED SUPPORTS:
1. Provides support to individuals using person centered language.
2. Reminds and coaches employees to use person centered language.
3. Participates in client's person centered planning techniques.
4. Uses effective and sensitive communication skills to build rapport with individuals served and employees.
5. Uses modes of communication and terminology that are appropriate to the communication needs of the individual served.
6. Attends all required team meetings and staff meetings.
CRISIS PREVENTION AND DE-ESCALATION :
1. Assist and lead crisis event with clients as needed.
2. Has the ability to identify a crisis, diffuse the situation, and determine an intervention strategy. Contacts necessary supports as needed. Able to ensure that the staff they supervise has the ability to respond appropriately to crisis.
3. Monitors crisis situations, discusses the incident with authorized staff and participants, adjusting supports and the environment, complies with regulations for reporting. Able to train staff on managing crisis events.
4. Monitor and ensure implementation of PCM practices as dictated by the Behavioral Support Plan.
5. Ability to train, coach and ensure fidelity on Behavioral Support Plan.
6. Is an active and compliant participant in any internal and external investigations following a crisis event.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Transport and support community errands, visits and medical appointments with individuals served as needed.
2. Maintains valid driver's license and low-risk driving record, in accordance with company guidelines. Reports any and all traffic infractions (on or off the job) to supervisor in a timely manner.
3. Spends time with applicants/job candidates to evaluate their qualifications during Observational Interviews.
4. Ensures all new hires On-the-Job Training documents are completed and saved to the proper location.
5. Management of expenses in assigned location(s).
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of two years of management and supervisory experience.
Bachelor's Degree in a related field and/or equivalent work experience preferred.
Experience working with challenging behaviors is preferred.
