Job Summary:
Under limited supervision, this position offers instruction to students from a variety of diverse educational levels and backgrounds, including one-on-one, classroom, and online. The Reference and Instruction Librarian coordinates and delivers library orientation, instruction, and information literacy services; offers effective Reference and in-depth research consultations; and contributes to the management of the library as part of the library director's leadership
team.

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience: Masters of Library Science / Masters of Library and Information Science from ALA accredited institution and a minimum of one year of prior library or teaching experience is required.
Required License and/or Certifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated knowledge of current web technologies
- Demonstrated competence employing instructional technologies in a library setting, including online tutorials, development of LibGuides, distance learning technologies (eg. Canvas, Zoom), etc.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for reference/instruction, including a commitment to high quality services
- Expertise in teaching the use of unified discovery tools, online databases, link resolvers, interlibrary loan, internet resources, library management systems, etc.
- Evidence of skills in project management, multi-tasking, and attention to excellence and detail
- Effective and engaging teaching style
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient skills using Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of and ability to use specialized applications related to the needs of the department
- Ability to operate standard office equipment
