The Public Health Program at Hamline University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position with an open area of specialization (such as community health promotion, environmental and/or occupational health, health disparities, health policy, maternal and child health, or migrant health) to begin in fall 2024. We are seeking a broadly trained Public Health scholar with demonstrated excellence in research.
Successful applicants will have the skills to teach undergraduate courses with a transdisciplinary approach, and contribute to curricula in health sciences and health equity including Introduction to Public Health, Epidemiology, and upper level electives in their area of expertise. After their first year, the successful candidate will contribute to the interdisciplinary First Year Seminar curriculum. Tenure-track faculty typically teach six courses per academic year, with a one course reduction during the first year.
Public Health faculty at Hamline are interdisciplinary scholars trained in fields including Anthropology, Biology, Exercise Science, Global Studies, Public Health, Psychology, and Sociology. We are dedicated teacher-scholars who emphasize collaborative research, internships, community engaged learning, social justice and health equity, as well as high impact educational experiences incorporated directly into the curriculum. Students who major in Public Health Sciences are deeply engaged both on campus and in outside communities.
Candidates must have a strong commitment to both teaching and research, and be able to establish an active research program. A doctoral degree in Public Health or related field (PhD or DrPH) is required. Applicants who are ABD with expected defense dates by August 30th, 2024 will also be considered.
