Job Description:
The Computer Science program at York College of Pennsylvania invites applications for a Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Computer Science beginning in August 2024. The successful candidate will teach a variety of undergraduate Computer Science courses which may include introductory programming, software engineering, programming language design, data structures and algorithms, networking and cybersecurity, computer architecture, operating systems, etc. primarily to Computer Science and electrical/computer engineering majors. Faculty often oversee independent study projects, senior capstone design projects, and teach special topics courses in their specialization area. Faculty are also active in curriculum and laboratory development along with performing research in their field.
As a teaching-focused institution, our ABET-accredited Computer Science program is characterized by small class sizes, extensive student/faculty interactions, and a focus on hands-on and project-based work. Students participate in one mandatory internship as part of our experiential education program prior to graduation, gaining valuable experience in professional software development that they can then apply in their classroom learning.

Successful hiring of a Ph.D. in Computer Science to join the faculty of the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering and Computer Science in the Computer Science program on a tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Professor level.
Applicants must have or be in the process of completing a Ph.D. Degree in Computer Science. Candidates with prior teaching experience, interest in pedagogical research, and industry experience are valued.
Candidates must have the interest and ability to teach a range of undergraduate Computer Science courses and are expected to demonstrate the potential for outstanding teaching, advising, and scholarly activity.
