Description
At Westminster College, we believe in immersive and enriching experiences that inspire creative thinking and problem solving. We believe in creating opportunities for several different paths to success over a lifetime and the potential to make an impact from wherever you are. For our students, we do this by providing real-world, hands-on learning opportunities, small class sizes, and talented professors dedicated to the individual. Our employees often remark that our tight-knit community creates an atmosphere fostering campus involvement that adapts to all interests. As a result, Westminster continues to be recognized for its excellence in higher education as one of the best small liberal arts colleges in the Midwest.
Westminster College seeks applicants for an Assistant Professor, coordinator, instructor, pro-rata tenure-track, or professional academic staff position in forensic psychology beginning Fall 2024. The department has recently added a concentration within the psychology major focused on Forensic Psychology. We are seeking a forensic psychologist or similar specialist who can teach courses in their area of specialization, coordinate the forensic psychology concentration, and contribute to the psychology major.
This position could be part-time or full-time depending on the candidate's interests and availability. The pro-rata optional status means a full-time salary is pro-rated. For example, if the individual is half-time, then the salary would be half of a full-time faculty member. This is a great opportunity for a practicing clinician who wants to teach part-time in a long-term capacity for higher pay than an adjunct position.
Requirements
Essential Functions:

  • Teaching in-person courses to contribute to the psychology major and a new concentration in forensic psychology
  • Mentoring experiential learning, such as student internships or service learning

ABD considered. Candidates with a Master's degree should have relevant professional experience in areas that fall under Forensic Psychology.
Skills:
  • Potential for successful teaching and student mentoring in a liberal arts setting
  • An appreciation of holistic student development, and a commitment to the interdisciplinary life of a small undergraduate campus.
