Previous experience or interest in serving as director of undergraduate studies would be considered a plus.

Job Summary The F. Joseph Halcomb III, M.D. Department of Biomedical Engineering ( BME) in the Pigman College of Engineering at the University of Kentucky invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions in Biomedical Engineering at the level of Assistant Professor and Associate Professor. Applicants should have earned a Ph.D. in an Engineering discipline with demonstrated accomplishments and experience to warrant an appointment at the level of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor.
The position is available beginning January 2024. The ideal candidate will engage in vigorous research that applies engineering principles to solve healthcare challenges in an area that complements the current faculty expertise in the department. Areas of particular interest are (i) biomaterials/tissue engineering, (ii) biomechanics, (iii) medical imaging, and (iv) AI/bioinformatics; other areas of Biomedical Engineering, both experimental and computational, can be considered as well. Women and other candidates under-represented in engineering are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will be expected to develop and maintain a robust externally funded, globally recognized research program at the University of Kentucky, and actively participate in the teaching and service missions of the University.
