Job Description

Running the largest, fastest-growing, and highest-performing network of public charter schools in New York City takes a village - families, children, teachers, staff and faculty, advocates and supporters alike. We would love to welcome you to our community! We work tirelessly every day to ensure each child in NYC has access to a fun, rigorous, whole-child education regardless of zip code or economic status. When you join SA, you play a part in giving every student who walks through the doors of one of our 53 schools in NYC a fair shot at reaching his or her potential.

We are currently hiring for the 24-25 school year!

Are you a passionate, driven, lead teacher looking for an intellectually charged environment where you can make an impact? As an Assistant Principal Fellow at New York City’s top-performing K-12 charter network, you will be part of a team of professionals committed to teaching and preparing children to be self-assured thinkers and learners, capable of exploring and debating sophisticated ideas, and ready for college and whatever they set their sights on.

We seek excellent lead teachers who have 2-3 years of experience and are excited to move into a leadership role in the 24-25 school year. You will join us as an Assistant Principal Fellow and be developed by some of the best educators in the country. In your first year, you will complete a teaching rotation while being paid at a junior leadership level. This first year of learning our school design will set you up to be a fully functioning Assistant Principal from the start of your second year. As a result of the exceptional supports, curriculum resources, training and development you will have access to, along with your insatiable appetite for continuous improvement, you will have the runway to increase your readiness for the top job upon completion of the Fellowship -- a principal at one of New York’s top-performing charter schools.

We invite you to apply if you:

  • Have 2-3 years of teaching experience as a lead teacher

  • Have diverse experience across grades and subjects

  • Hold exceptionally high standards for the quality of work and a reflex to improve at every turn

  • Are eager to learn and have growth mindset

  • Have an education reform mindset

  • Have a record of exceptional student achievement and results

  • Possess the agility to adapt in an ever changing environment
