Lower School Assistant Principal
(12-month position)
The Assistant Principal serves as a member of the administrative team to provide leadership and supervision to the instructional program and school operations to ensure a school climate that fosters the educational development of each student.
QUALIFICATIONS
(REQUIRED):
New Jersey Board of Education – Principal’s Certification and Supervisor of Instruction Certification.
Demonstrated leadership skills in the areas of curriculum development and program evaluation, staff supervision, and school improvement.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
In the absence of the Principal, the Assistant Principal is responsible for the management of the school’s day-to-day program in accordance with law, administrative code, board policies and regulations.
Oversee and organize the administration of all state assessments, turnkey training, school security plans, and assessment practice time to ensure full compliance with state regulations.
Develop the Master Teaching schedule and school calendar with input from other administrators.
Participate in staff interviews.
Participate in intake interviews of prospective students.
Maintain high standards of student conduct and school discipline by developing and implementing the school’s behavior management program in conjunction with the administrative team.
Maintain a leadership role in the development and implementation of the annual staff orientations.
Assume responsibility for upgrading their own professional knowledge and skills by attending workshops and establishing a yearly PIP plan.
Conduct new and full staff orientation meetings in conjunction with the Principal and other administrators.
Chair weekly program meetings.
Attend and participate in weekly cabinet meetings.
Attend case reviews for students.
Attend monthly staff meetings and human resource meetings. Chair staff meeting in the absence of the Principal.
Chair monthly meetings.
Attend and participate in Back to School Night.
Comply with all policies and procedures of Spectrum360.
Accurately complete all necessary reports for the management of programs in accordance with law, administrative code, and Spectrum360 policies.
Follow recommendations of the Executive Director/CEO and Principal.
