· 100% responsible for the day to day operations of the facility operations, including Production, Quality, Materials and Logistics
· Lead departmental management meetings, high-level corrective actions, operations reviews, safety observation tours, 5S walks, and the general promotion of continual improvement as a business culture.
· Lead Operational escalation activities for any risks related to logistics issues, material shortages, quality spills and / or operational performance issues.
· Develop plans to improve the skills of each person in the department and monitor overall effectiveness.
· Direct the shop floor operations, quality, materials and logistics in a manner that promotes high morale, teamwork, pride, productivity, and quality.
· Foster a Safety-First environment by ensuring accidents and incidents occurrence and severity are reduced and eliminated per BP objectives.
· Manage and oversee the budget for operations, quality, materials and logistics departments and conduct annual business planning activities for these departments
· Promote the fostered environment conducive to identify and achieve continuous improvement activities above and beyond the business plan objectives
· Create an environment of clear expectations and accountability to maintain all plant, corporate and business plan objectives.
· Ensure customer satisfaction for operational, delivery, inventory, materials, quality performance, per BP Objectives and customer requirements
· Ensure customer satisfaction for Quality and Scorecard Management Performance per BP Objectives and customer feedback.
· Ensure customer satisfaction and foster positive relationships with the customer. Hold all departments accountable for customer responsiveness and cooperation.
· Ensure Materials, Quality and Operations Departments meet the performance goals per plant and BP Objectives:
· Perform internal reviews, providing coaching, teaching, counseling as required.
· Ensure employee involvement/participation and ownership at all levels of the organization.
· Ensure the successful launch of engineering changes, model changeovers and completely new programs.
· Comply with all company directed policies and procedures developed within the Business Operating System.
· Ensure all departmental dashboards are updated with current metric information for accurate and concise escalation and decision making
· Document all activities as required.
· Adhere to and promote the Vision and Culture Operating Philosophy and observe the rules, regulation and direction of the Employee Handbook and C.B.A.
· Adhere to all company guidelines for Emergency Evacuation to ensure employee safety.
· Any additional responsibility deemed necessary by management.
Limits of Authority
· Advise Plant and Executive Management of those situations that may pose a significant risk to the program, product assurance, facilities, employee safety or customer satisfaction results.
· Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformance relating to product, process & systems.
· Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process or system.
· Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through the appropriate channels and verify implementation.
· Control further processing and delivery of nonconforming products until the deficiency is corrected.
· Responsible to meet customer requirements with regards to product quality and delivery.
Basic Education, Experience, Core Competencies and Skills Required
· Bachelor’s degree in a manufacturing or management discipline or equivalent combination of work and education.
· Minimum 7 years related experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
· Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels within the business as well as executive leadership
· Possess excellent leadership abilities, organizational and communication skills.
· Proficient computer skills (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.).
