Work location. position works onsite at Bowling Green plant location
What You’ll Do :Develop and drive the safety culture within the plant. Leads Workplace Safety System element(s).
- Manage day to day operations at the facility and coordinate activities within or across plant departments.
- Coach, train, develop, evaluate and provide recognition for salaried team members. Build a high performing team culture.
- Achieve Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, Environment and Launch metrics.
- Lead through teaching GMS operating requirements and serve as GMS principal lead and calibrator.
- Work closely with other departments within and outside of the manufacturing production team and maintains strong relationships with other plants and external customers.
- Participates in the selection of salaried people leaders to effectively perform operations.
- Maintain corporate control systems, budget and other information necessary to monitor performance.
- Continually work to improve the “Workplace of Choice” environment.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to company policies and procedures. Comply with the terms of local and national labor agreements.
- Uphold GM’s vision, values, and cultural behaviors.
- Mentor and support others to attain their aspirations and goals.
- This position requires supporting and leading community and Corvette focused events, including regular direct interaction with the public and product enthusiasts.
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications
Proficient with industrial safety systems, automotive quality systems, theory of constraints, budget planning, budget attainment, problem solving, team development, continuous improvement, managing large organizations.
Supply chain management, vehicle manufacturing, propulsion system manufacturing, new product development and launch, industrial equipment maintenance and design, public speaking, customer relations
Other required experience: proven leader of large complex groups, engineering team management, budgeting/budget attainment, quality systems and improvement, industrial equipment maintenance and design
Other preferred experience: vehicle manufacturing, powertrain manufacturing
Required: BS in Engineering or Lean Manufacturing or other Technical Field
Preferred: Masters Degree in Engineering, Business or Lean Manufacturing
