Form of work10A is an acute care unit for the Emergency General Surgery Service. The unit is also designated as overflow for the Trauma and Vascular Services. The patient population includes primarily complicated abdominal surgeries for conditions such as necrotizing pancreatitis and entercutaneous fistulas, colectomies; and complications of prior surgeries. Other diagnoses include necrotizing fasciitis, complicated appendectomies, bowel obstructions, diabetic ulcers, necrotic venous ulcerations, ischemic arterial ulcers, plus various traumatic injuries that may occur during MVC or falls.
Designated acute care unit for all trauma/surgical ventilated patients. 13A provides care to adolescent through geriatric patients ranging from 16-100+ who have a variety of diagnoses, which require medical /surgical interventions and recovery for Trauma related conditions. This population may include, but are not limited to: injuries related to motor vehicle accidents, including moderate to severe traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries. gunshot and stab wounds; traumatic amputations; limb reattachments; multisystem trauma; spine surgery fracture repair, sport related injuries and interpersonal and intrapersonal violence, mental health disturbances. It is the overflow for Orthopedics, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, and Plastics.

The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) is a registered nurse (RN) who is responsible for upholding excellence in the provision of nursing care through the implementation of the Profession Practice Model. The ANM, in association with the Nurse Manager, is responsible for the managerial and leadership functions within a patient environment. The ANM functions primarily on evening and nightshift hours to provide operational oversight, consistency and continuity. The ANM partners with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure the delivery of safe, quality patient care and compliance with regulatory standards, and administrative and clinical policies and procedures. The ANM performs managerial activities, and demonstrates effective leadership behaviors including performing evaluations, employee mentoring, coaching, and performance management. The ANM implements quality and safety initiatives, engages in process improvement, ensures adherence to bargaining unit agreements and human resource management. The ANM creates and sustains a patient care environment that supports a safe, knowledgeable, compassionate, productive, and engaged staff.
The ANM’s decisions and actions are based on ethical principles as outlined by the American Nurses Association. The ANM practices in adherence with the American Nurses Association’s (ANA) Nursing Administration: Scope and Standards of Practice for Nurse Administrators, the ANA Code of Ethics, the Oregon State Board Nurse Practice Act, and within the context of the Nurse Executive Competencies developed by the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE). - BSN or higher degree in nursing
- Unencumbered Oregon RN
- Minimum of 2 years relevant clinical with strong charge nurse experienceLicense
- BLS at time of hire and must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network branch of AHA (upload documentation with online application)
- Required prioritization of multiple projects, activities, and assignments.
- Repeated interruptions in an environment of frequent change and fluctuations

- Master’s degree in nursing or a related field
- Previous management experience
- Nurse executive certification
