The University of Maine Farmington (UMF) is seeking applicants for the seasonal, part-time Assistant Men's Soccer Coach position. This position will begin during the off-season - March 1st through the end of April. The off-season stipend is $500. The typical competitive season is August 15th through November 15th, and the stipend is $3,000.
The Assistant Men's Soccer Coach will assist the Head Coach in all aspects of the Soccer Program, including, but not limited to, instructing players on the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
Essential Duties
- Participates in games and practices, including organization and implementation of daily practices.
- Coaches in competition and training.
- Prepares film breakdown and analysis; presents analysis to team members.
- Plans and prepares for games and training.
- Assists in organizing team travel and meals.
- Assists with scouting, recruitment, and strategy development.
- Supports player and leadership development.
- Contributes to strength and conditioning program, including one-on-one strength, and conditioning work with student-athletes.
- Provides support and encouragement to student-athletes.
- Recruits and retains talented athletes; builds relationships with prospective student athletes and their families through email, phone, and one-on-one meetings.
- Understands NCAA and North Atlantic Conference (NAC) rules, compliance, and laws.
- Ensures the safety and well-being of student athletes.
- Serves as an effective role model for college-age students.
- Assists with day-to-day operations of the Men's Soccer program.
- Provides effective communication to head coach.
- Collaborates effectively with other Department of Athletics team members.
- Attends and participates in department trainings pertaining to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience with the skills of soccer
- Valid driver's license (in good standing, based on UMS standards)
- Availability for practices and weekend competitive schedule

- Bachelor's Degree
- Collegiate competitive experience/coaching
- Sports recruiting experience
