Star Auto Authority is one of the largest independent vehicle repair (mechanical and collision) facilities in the nation (for example, we have 35 free loaner vehicles). We are a spotless, state-of-the-art facility with 38 bays. Within our 26,000 square-foot facility, we provide cutting-edge tools, equipment, and computer technology. We have steady high quality work with a large customer base. Monday through Friday work weeks.
1. The Assistant Service Manager (ASM) reports directly to the General Manager (GM).
2. Primary responsibilities:
a. Handle incoming telephone, drive-in, tow-in or other customer contact in tandem with (SM) and service Writer(s).
b. Review service, repair, maintenance and detailing services estimates as prepared by Technicians.
c. Present estimates to the customer and sell only needed and recommended services.
d. Control cost of labor and materials to maintain gross profit standards.
e. Monitor and timeliness of production and client commitments.
f. Ensure customer satisfaction at all times.
g. Attend staff and management meetings as directed by schedule.
h. Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
i. Participate in continuing education.
3. Duties:
The ASM is co-responsible for the successful generation of 100% Customer Satisfaction with the Service Manager and General Manager. The ASM is also responsible for generating appropriate Sales Revenue and Gross Profit levels as per company guidelines. The ASM operates under the direct supervision of the General Manager. The level of difficulty of the position is that of Professional Salesperson and Personnel Manager. Normally works open to close, 5 days per week with one early or late day and may include management meetings as directed by the principals on occasion.
In addition, the ASM is co-responsible for delegating the preparation of, and properly maintaining all Sales and Lead Documentation forms or data reports, and information-gathering systems on a daily basis with the Service Manager. Along with staff, answers telephone calls, handles drive-in, walk-in or tow-in customers, and prices and sells services. May be involved in the ordering and handling of parts, materials and supplies, and the preparation of vehicle-specific repair and maintenance information necessary to generate finished products and services. The ASM will also actively participate in the scheduling of customer services (repairs, maintenance, etc.).
Dress, appearance and demeanor of the ASM will clearly reflect the highest levels of professionalism at all times, with customers and employees.
The Assistant Service Manager aids the Service Manager and General Manager with the management of the following production staff:
Service Technicians
Parts Department Manager
Service Advisors
Detailing & Appearance Specialists
Car Wash / Porter
Courtesy Drivers
Maintenance Staff
4. Salary Range: $70,000 - $110,000 per year, depending upon experience and facility performance.
