Job Description
General Purpose:
Responsible for a comprehensive preventative maintenance program on all equipment. This program includes the repair of failing equipment, keeping records of parts and labor needed to maintain each piece of equipment, and placing orders for parts and supplies needed for equipment and service.
Essential Duties:
¨ Inspect, diagnose and repair mechanical defects/failures in various golf course maintenance equipment including, diesel, electric and gasoline powered equipment.
¨ Instructs and /or train golf course maintenance employees regarding preventative maintenance, proper cleaning and safe operation of equipment.
¨ Prioritizes equipment repair and maintenance work in conjunction with the management staff.
¨ Maintain a preventative maintenance program within budget on all equipment and purchases, equipment condition, costs of repairs and preventative maintenance for all equipment.
¨ Spot check equipment for performance on the course, frequently make emergency repairs to equipment on the course and services or supervise servicing of equipment prior to use.
¨ Oversee the shop area maintenance.
¨ Regulates employee’s use of equipment in absence of the Director for Agronomy and Assistant Superintendent.
¨ Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
¨ Performs other duties as required.
Education/Experience:
¨ Working knowledge of light and heavy maintenance equipment and automotive apparatuses.
¨ Skilled in the use of a variety of equipment repair tools and the making of various types of mechanical repair.
Physical Demands:
Frequently stands, walk, uses hands to finger, feel or handle, reaches with hands and arms. Regularly reaches with hands and arms, tastes or smells. Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls. Frequently lifts up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds.
Environment/Noise:
Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate.
Certificates/Licenses:
Driver’s License may be required.
