The Assistant Manager Regional Facilities Maintenance invests in the future of Southwest’s People by supporting the Las Vegas (LAS) Regional Facilities Team and ensuring that all work orders in the CMMS are done efficiently at Southwest Airlines facilities in cities assigned by the Regional Manager . This role over sees 16 cities and will have support across three cities from three assistants and five technicians. In addition, the Assistant Manager can expect to interact with all internal and external C ustomers, as well as contractors, airport personnel, or anyone who directly or indirectly impacts our operation. The Assistant Manager Regional Facilities Maintenance is a self-starter who is open-minded and excited to support impactful initiatives across the Enterprise.
Additional details:
This role is offered as a regional workplace position and Employees must work in the region they support. This could require working from a mix of on-site Company facilities and remote based offices to perform the job function in a regional location determined by business need. Each Department will provide Employees with guidance on when and where presence is required with as much notice as reasonably possible .
Please note, while this is a regional position, there is limited group of states or localities ineligible for Employees to regularly perform their work off-site. Those ineligible locations are: Alaska, California, Colorado, Delaware, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, Washington and Wyoming.

Responsibilities
Conduct station visits for assets check
Oversee completion of all maintenance requests and monitor all preventive maintenance and repairs
Responsible for monitoring the CMMS/CSM system and organizing work performed by Contractors in cities assigned by the Regional Manager, and ensure that these tasks are performed effectively and efficiently to have the least impact on our Customers' daily operations
Perform quality control inspections of our facilities, including functionality and condition of mechanical and electrical rooms, restrooms, public areas, roofs, exterior finishes, sidewalks, holdrooms, potable water cabinets, stairwells, and parking areas (where applicable)
Perform janitorial audits in all SWA areas
Update all Corporate Facilities assets
Assist with repairs as needed
Manage a workforce of Technicians
Communicate with station Leadership on repairs
Train and assist SWA EE and contractors on proper procedures and use of our CMMS/CMS
Assist /manage Union Workforce
May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings, or other structures such as highways and roads
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing Customer and personal services including Customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of Customer satisfaction
Skilled using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
Skilled in performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed
Skilled in giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
Fully functioning, broad knowledge in construction and building repair fundamentals, including electrical and mechanical repair gained through trade school courses, training programs, or on-the-job experience
Preferred: Experience leading and managing a team
Preferred: Experience navigating ambiguous situations
Licensing/Certification
Must be able to obtain a SIDA (Secured Identification Display Area) badge and meet all local airport requirements
Physical Abilities
Ability to perform work duties from limited space workstation/desk/office area for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Ability to raise/move/transport 100 lbs on an occasional basis (under 50%)
Other Qualifications
Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $80,500 per year to $89,500 per
year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
