The primary purpose of the Assistant ManagerPharmaceutical Services position is to assist the Manager Pharmacy Operations with daily operations of the department by supervising all supervisors and staff. Implements and monitors organizational and departmental policies while supporting regulatory compliance, including but not limited to, DOH, TJC, CMS, Board of Pharmacy, etc. Performs all duties and responsibilities of staff pharmacist for all ages and populations served by University Hospital as assigned. Performs the duties of the Manager Pharmacy Operations in his/her absence.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy or Pharm D. Degree from an accredited institution required. Residency training or Board Certification desirable. Minimum of two (2) years hospital pharmacy experience with one (1) year is in a supervisory capacity. Thorough knowledge of pharmacy order entry computer systems and automated dispensing systems required. Candidate must possess knowledge of local, state and federal regulations regarding the practice of pharmacy, including but not limited to, DOH, DEA, and TJC. Strong professional, organizational, computer, communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience in a unionized environment preferred.
