Qualifications:
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- College degree preferred.
- Five years casino experience required, preferably in slots, pit and/or poker operation.
- Knowledge of casino rules, gaming/AML regulations and procedures pertinent to Slots and Pit operations is preferred.
- Must possess excellent customer relations, leadership, and communication skills.
- Must be able to plan and direct projects.
- Three years leadership experience.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must be willing to work any day of the week and any shift.
- Must be able to get along with teammates and work as a team.
- Must present a well-groomed appearance.
Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for managing the operations of table games and slot operations on an assigned shift. Acts as the manager on duty as assigned by the Table Games manager.
- Oversees and/or directs activity of Slots and Table Games Supervisors in relief or absence of the COM.
- Coaches and develops teammates and conducts regular one on ones with direct reports.
- Coordinates and complete projects and work as assigned by the Director of Table Games.
- Responsible for observing business levels and making decisions regarding deployment of slots, table games teammates, opening/closing tables and/or pits, yielding table limits and managing supervisors as needed.
- Displays a working knowledge of all slots and table games procedures, house rules, jackpot payment procedures, card counting methods.
- Approves TTOs for credit customers.
- Assures that all table games gaming equipment is always operational, as to not disrupt normal business.
- Exhibits sound decision-making qualities, motivates personnel, and exhibits effective supervisory skills.
- Settles disputes that arise from guests in the Slots and Table Games area, referring those that are very difficult to the Casino Operations Manager, or Director.
- Assures guest development by 1) interacting with guests, 2) modeling interactive skills with guests and fellow employees and 3) making Comp decisions, 4) resolving guest issues using available resources, SDS, CMS, service recovery, etc.
- Interacts with support departments to facilitate casino, hotel, food, beverage, and slot performance/maintenance services as needed.
- Remains alert to any unusual or questionable activities being displayed by any Slot or Table Games guest and reports any situations to Table Games Manager.
- Observes interactions between teammates and gaming guests and assists, if necessary.
- Recommends change in department including hiring, promotion, demotion, and termination.
- Counsels, guides, coaches, and instructs assigned direct reports in the proper performance of their duties. Prepares and coordinates the periodical performance review of assigned personnel.
- Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
- Assists in interviewing, training, and selecting teammates.
- Provides for safety and security
- Handles employees' complaints or grievances
- Recommends disciplinary action or disciplines employees
- Monitors legal compliance with federal, state, and gaming laws
Physical, Mental & Environmental Demands:
- Must be able to work inside and continuously maneuver in and around assigned table in the Pit department during entire shift, with regular interval breaks.
- Must be able to lift to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items.
- Must be able to walk and be on feet for long periods of time.
- Must be able to respond calmly and handle many customers' demands in a fast-paced environment. Responds to visual and aural cues.
- Must be able to memorize game rules and procedures.
- Must be able to perform mathematical computations when determining winners and losers and collecting and paying out bets quickly and accurately.
- Must possess good manual dexterity for quick and accurate handling of chips, cards and money.
- Must have excellent vision (including peripheral) to protect the games.
- Must be able to read, verify and sign appropriate documents relating to the game in a small area.
- Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
- Must be able to display basic leadership skills, ability to adapt to change and make sound decisions with limited information.
Salary: $72k per year, depending on experience
