ASSISTANT MANAGER (BAR SPECIALTY) - GENERAL SUMMARY
Assist and support the General Manager on the operational daily tasks to run a Silverspot Cinema with operational excellence, a quality of food and drinks offering and superb guest service.
ASSISTANT MANAGER (BAR SPECIALTY) – OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
- Objective: Carry out daily operational task and functions
- Activity: Perform opening and closing procedures
- Activity: Handle the resolution of escalated guest service issues and diffuse situations through proper service recovery techniques.
- Activity: Control cash and other receipts by adhering to policies and procedures.
- Activity: Assist with scheduling staff according to forecast and staffing tools and employee time record keeping
- Activity: Perform administrative tasks and paperwork in a timely and organized manner
- Objective: Supervise and ensure an efficient, profitable and enjoyable bar operation
2.1. Activity: Interview, hire, train and evaluate all bar staff.
2.2. Activity: Monitor and control bar expenses, including inventory costs, labor
and other bar operations expenses and margins.
2.3. Activity: Develop and suggest strategies to increase sales and maximize
revenue, while ensuring proper service levels, adhering to approval and
implementation process.
- Objective: Supervise, motivate, and train the staff to perform their best at providing superior guest service and delivering the Silverspot experience.
3.1. Activity: Participate in recruitment by screening applicants, interviewing, and
Hiring.
3.2. Activity: Support the staff to meet sales targets via proactive supervision,
including training, providing feedback, joint goal setting and progress reporting
3.2. Activity: Continuous training to develop the staff and provide the necessary
knowledge to perform their daily tasks, while fostering teamwork.
3.4. Activity: Manage corrective actions to provide feedback and correct behavior
when necessary and improve performance.
- Objective: Ensure that the physical aspect of the theater is ready and in shape to deliver the Silverspot experience.
- Activity: Walkthrough of the theater to make sure that the FOH and BOH is ready, clean, organized to ensure that we are ready to service our guests.
- Activity: Ensure proper stock replenishment.
- Activity: Ensure staff wear appropriate attire/uniform.
- Activity: Ensure that all equipment is kept clean, in excellent working condition and supervise all preventative periodic maintenance is being conducted.
- Activity: Guard and supervise actively the well handling of all technology equipment including tablets, printers, KDS, radios and more.
- Objective: Manage Inventory of supplies, foods, drinks, chemicals, etc. to assure proper stock to meet expected customer demand, control COGS and minimize loses, following the standard operating procedures and guidelines mandated by the Finance Department.
- Activity:Control monitor in-store stock levels to prevent under or overstock.
- Activity: Place orders
- Activity: Process deliveries and verify items received.
- Activity: Perform monthly physical inventory counts.
- Activity: Maintain clean and organized all stock rooms.
- Objective: Observe all Silverspot Policies as well all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain as Food Safety, Health, and Safe Work conditions Health
- Activity: Report areas of concern to the General Manager and use proper judgement in handling issues.
- Activity: Follow the proper protocols and refer to the employee handbook when employee issues arise.
- Activity: Report any guest or employee incident and follow the protocols immediately.
- Activity: Assist in providing proper coaching and applying disciplinary action through the General Manager.
- Activity: Maintain active certifications in all required areas of food handling and alcohol awareness.
- Activity: Follows proper human resource policies as it relates to proper coaching and managing staff issues and concerns.
- Activity: Ensure that the proper SOPs are followed daily.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Economic: Contribute to meet the goals for KPIs of F&B sales as in COGS and expenses
- Equipment: Working knowledge of projection equipment, VISTA POS, ADP workforce manager, office equipment and kitchen equipment.
- Confidential Information: Assistant Managers have access to sensitive personal information of our guests and employees. They must adhere to the Confidentiality policy.
- Reports: Vista, PowerBi, ADP and Teams
- Supervision: Supervise staff to ensure that they are ready and perform their tasks competently.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Prefer a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality or related field or
- At least 3 years experience in managing a Food & Beverage operation with over 50 employees in a high volume, fast paced venue.
- Or a combination of experience and education
KNOWLEDGE
- Working knowledge of POS systems preferably VISTA but can be Micros, TOAST or Aloha
- Working knowledge of Microsoft software including Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint
- Competent in using spreadsheets, formulas, and basic to advanced excel functions.
SKILLS
- Hospitality skill that can be transferred to the team such as using proper hospitality verbiage, greeting and guest recovery techniques.
- Leadership skill to manage, motivate and develop team members.
- Excellent communication skill (written/verbal) and strong listening skills.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
- Work is performed in the theater which is well lit but can be dark or dimly lit.
- Work is performed with proper ventilation.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours).
- Be able to reach, bend, stop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Reliable, consistent work attendance is a requirement and essential function of this position.
WORKING SCHEDULE:
- Must be able to work nights, weekends & holidays.
