Assistant Location Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

The Location Manager maintains broad responsibilities for all medical and non-medical administrative functions. Coordinates and monitors the daily activities of the office staff and providers. Maintains communication between the office staff, billing, administration and the clinic’s physicians.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Manages the office staff, including the clinical employees, and coordinates office procedures with the staff and physicians

2. Serves as liaison between physicians, billing office and administration

3. Supports office staff and physicians on office related matters

4. Implements office policies and procedures and informs the office staff of changes as appropriate

5. Stays current with changes in reimbursement, billing, coding and documentation issues

6. Assists in hiring, training and orienting new office and clinical personnel

7. Assists in monitoring staff work schedules, vacation, sick leave and day-to-day operations

8. Evaluates performance of all office staff and issues rewards and disciplinary action as necessary

9. Coordinates staffing needs for departments and maintains strong physician relations

10. Leads staff meetings and provides consistent communication to the COO/CEO

11. Oversees medical recommendations for patient care when necessary

12. Oversees provided medical orders for prescription refills, administration of medications, ancillary testing and/or referrals

13. Ensures the department operates in a high quality manner

14. Has regular and predictable attendance

15. Adheres to all Advanced Pain Care policies and procedures

16. Performs other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

· Knowledge of business office procedures and clinic payment policies

· Knowledge of OSHA and HIPPA compliance procedures

· Knowledge of basic accounting principles

· Ability to work with all departments, staff, patients and external agencies

· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations

· Ability to maintain a professional attitude and demeanor at all times

· Skilled in establishing work priorities and coordinating work activities to ensure completion of job tasks within a specified time frame

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

· Experience using computers and Electronic Medical Records

· Possesses good judgment and is able to work independently

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in health-related field or business administration; must be a certified or registered medical assistant.

Experience: Minimum of three years’ experience with at least two years of direct supervisory experience in a medical group practice or other healthcare organization, preferably in a clinical setting

Environmental Conditions:

· Medical Office environment

· Must interact with physicians, patients and other office personnel

Physical Conditions:

· Must be able to work as scheduled

· Must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged period of time

· Duties involve moving materials, weighing up to 30 lbs.

· Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment, etc.

Direct Supervision: Reports to Providers, Chief Operating Office and Chief Executive Officer
