Position Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill three part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week during the school term and a maximum of 40 hours per week during term breaks) Student Support Services - Assistant Lecture Editor positions for Ecampus at Oregon State University (OSU).
The Assistant Lecture Editor at Oregon State Ecampus edits and produces online lecture videos under the guidance of Ecampus Lecture and Multimedia producers for OSU teaching faculty in order to advance the reputation of OSU and to create video for online students.
This position reports to the Lecture Team Manager within OSU Ecampus. OSU Ecampus is comprised of Course Development and Training (online education and faculty support), Marketing and Enrollment Services, Student Success, the Ecampus Research Unit, and Open Educational Resources. It is a fast-growing, entrepreneurial organization with a commitment to providing access to Oregon State University's programs of excellence.
The position is based on OSU's Corvallis campus.
Position Duties
  • Editing: video and audio editing with Camtasia or Premiere
  • Captioning: transcribing videos with YouTube and caption team workflows Office work: time reporting, task reporting, file transfers, upload/download, team communications
  • Professional development: Trainings, video tutorials, gaining skills in media development.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
  • Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
    • High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
    • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
    • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
    • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
    • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
