Job description

Duties

Assists with accurately recording all aspects of legislative business in the House, both in the minute book on the Floor and electronically. Assists in the proofing and publication of the House Journal. Assists in recording and taking signatures accurately on discharge petitions. Works in a small workstation in an office environment without an expectation of privacy, where noise levels are usually moderate.

Qualifications

Strong background and knowledge of House Rules and procedures. Experience working in a team, excelling in an often fast-paced environment, and exercising discretion and independent judgment in fulfillment of responsibilities. Ability to perform the major duties described above. Must be detail oriented and committed to teamwork. A bachelor’s degree in a related field, along with extensive knowledge of the legislative process, strong organizational and administrative skills is required. Must be a self-starter and competent in Office 365 and have an ability and interest in learning simple coding functions in TextPad.
