What you will have an opportunity to do:
The Assistant Housekeeping Manager is responsible for assisting the Housekeeping Manager in overseeing the proper and smooth operation of the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments. The Assistant Housekeeping Manager will monitor all aspects of employee activity to ensure the highest quality in cleanliness and service.
  • Work closely with the Front Office leadership team towards a seamless connection between Housekeeping and the Front Office.
  • Assist in establishing specific goals and standards of performance management principles and practices to fully maximize productivity of Housekeeping and Laundry staff members.
  • Coach, counsel, and discipline Housekeeping and Laundry staff members.
  • Ensure that all Housekeeping and Laundry staff members receive appropriate rest periods and meal periods.
  • Assist in creating and delivering performance reviews for Housekeeping and Laundry staff members according to company schedule.
  • Act without prior approval and with full authority within your scope to ensure that the Lodge's major polices are followed.
  • Assist with recruiting and hiring all personnel under your direction.
  • Assist in preparing work schedules for staff, observing staffing guidelines.
  • Assist in creating and implementing training programs for the staff.
  • Lead or assist in conducting daily standup meetings for the department.
  • Assist in conducting staff meetings on a regular basis.
  • At all times, demonstrate the highest level of professionalism in dealing with guests, staff and other managers.
  • Focus on working in a safe manner and create a safe working environment at all times. Ensure that Housekeeping and Laundry staff are also working in a safe manner.
  • Ensure Willows quality standards of cleanliness in our guest rooms, guest corridors, service areas, and stairwells.
  • Inspect guest rooms and follow the guest room checklist to ensure that room attendants accountable to follow this.
  • Ensure that the housepersons complete their daily checklists.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication/direction with room attendants, housepersons, and laundry attendants to support positive behavior and correct improvement opportunities.
  • Open the Department; assign room attendant/houseperson zones. Log out keys and radios.
  • Close the Department, log in keys and radios, ensure room status updates are entered in computer system.
  • Fill in positions as needed (room cleaning/houseperson/laundry) or any area directed by Housekeeping Manager and/or Director of Rooms.
  • Report and log any maintenance problems on a daily basis.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • Hiring wage range: $29.00/Hour - $32.00/Hour
  • Eligible for medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, long term disability insurance, and life insurance under our existing group plans
  • Eligible for 401(k) retirement plan with employer match following 1 year of service under our existing plan
  • 11 days of PTO accrued in the first year based on an employee working 40/hours each week

What are we looking for?
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous supervisory experience in Housekeeping
  • Prefer luxury hotel experience
  • Excellent communication skills; verbal and nonverbal
  • Prefer bi-lingual language abilities in English and Spanish
