FACILITY OVERVIEW:
Brickyard Crossing Golf Course is a Pete Dye designed 18-hole public facility located in Indianapolis. With 4 holes located inside the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Brickyard Crossing is one of the most unique golf facilities in the world. The current 18-hole layout opened in 1994 and has hosted PGA Champions Tour events as well as the LPGA Indy Women in Tech Championship from 2017-2019. Previous layouts hosted the PGA Tour's 500 Festival Open in the 1960's.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Golf Professional will support the management of daily golf operations including managing and tracking play, assisting with all merchandising functions, managing tournaments, and providing other professional services to ensure an exceptional golf experience. Assist with the management of the online store and enhancing the customer service experience alongside the outside staff.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
  • Supervise and manage the total golf operations in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Provide excellent customer service and assistance to all members, guests, and IMS partners.
  • Control and manage play; ensure guest check-in and fee collection in coordination with the outside staff.
  • Supervise, schedule and train golf shop personnel as directed by the Golf Professionals.
  • Assist in the purchasing, receipt, display, inventory, promotion, and sales of merchandise including the Online Store.
  • Be informed on and promote all club activities and services.
  • Assist in planning the golf operations.
  • Assist in managing tournaments and outings.
  • Assist with accounting daily deposits, reports, and banking needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • N/A

Education
  • College Degree or PGM Graduate

Skills/Experience
  • Thorough knowledge of general business administration practices and professional golf operations practices and procedures
  • Working knowledge of golf course operations and practices necessary
  • Registered or soon to be registered PGA associate or current PGA Member in good standing.
  • Previous experience at high end public or private facility preferred.
  • Commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds and commitment to cultural competency.
  • Ability to uphold and consistently demonstrate the Penske Entertainment Standards.

Travel/Work Hours/Flexibility
  • General office hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
  • Weekends required while in season (April-October)
  • Longer hours and weekends may be required for the Month of May and other major racing events
