II. Function: To provide leadership, supervision and organization of the specific sports program.

IV. Reports To: Assistant Principal of Athletics
V. Requirements:
- Board of Education Approved
- A provisional, standard or substitute teaching certificate
- A New Jersey Resident
- Required Courses:
- Fundamentals of Coaching (One time requirement)
- Sports Specific First Aid Training (One time requirement)
- CPR and AED Certification (Every two years)
- Concussion Awareness Course (Must be completed every year)
- Heat Acclimatization Course (Must be completed every year)
- Implicit Bias (One time requirement)
VI. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contact, where necessary, and recommend assistant coaches for the program (if applicable).
- Prepare detailed duties of each assistant coach (if applicable).
- Keep abreast of the latest rules and regulations of the NJSIAA and the Shore Conference.
- Assist in the distribution and collection of uniforms and equipment.
- Organize and schedule practice sessions on a regular basis, which will develop the athletes to their optimum potential.
- Plan and administer the supervision of all team members.
- Provide the Assistant Principal of Athletics with lists of team members when so requested.
- Act as the liaison between the program and the media, booster club and, when necessary, the general public.
- Post all rules and regulation relative to discipline, attendance, letter award policy and other matters as deemed necessary by the Director of Athletics.
- Keep the Assistant Principal of Athletics informed of all disciplinary problems and of all injuries.
- When necessary, administer first aid to an injured player using the latest approved techniques.
- Report all injuries to the Athletic Trainer.
- Report all potentially dangerous conditions to the Assistant Principal of Athletics.
- Evaluate all assistant coaches (if applicable).
- Maintain records of the team and of individual accomplishments.
- Assist the equipment manager with an inventory at the conclusion of the season if deemed necessary by the Assistant Principal of Athletics.
- Prepare a budget in conjunction with the Assistant Principal of Athletics.
- Cooperate with colleges and college coaches as it pertains to assisting athletes choosing college placement.
- Related duties as requested by the Assistant Principal of Athletics.
