Assistant General Counsel - Litigation

Job Information
The Assistant General Counsel – Litigation will provide strategic legal advice to the Vice President Legal and Compliance and will report to the Deputy General Counsel.  This role will be responsible for all of the company’s litigation matters with little or no supervision.  In addition, this role will advise various business areas regarding risk mitigation and management. 
This position is open to a location of Atlanta, GA, Buford, GA, Minneapolis, MN or West Fargo, ND and offers a hybrid work arrangement with flexibility to split time between the office and home.
Role & Responsibility

• Devise legal strategies and independently manage the company’s litigation and pre-litigation matters.  Specifically, the role will primarily be responsible for the company’s product liability, warranty, intellectual property, labor and employment, dealer, and any other litigation.  The role will also be responsible for the company accident report investigation and other product safety matters and will work with compliance counsel on safety issues and recalls.
• Develop and drive company litigation management strategy to achieve positive litigation and dispute outcomes.
• Supervise outside counsel in all litigation matters to ensure timely and successful resolution in collaboration with functional partners and in alignment with organizational objectives and strategy.
• Provide counseling and advice to various business units regarding potential and ongoing litigation, disputes, and risks to the company. 
• Conduct and manage all discovery and document collection and review, including ESI, for the company.
• Draft and/or review all litigation filings and discovery.
• Manage all accident and fire investigation matters to proactively manage risk and prepare the company for possible litigation.
• Provide training concerning legal compliance, litigation, and risk management.

Job Requirement

• Law Degree - Juris Doctor with annual renewal of license to practice law in Georgia or other state(s).
• Must have significant litigation experience as primary or lead counsel with minimum of 7 to 10 years' experience.
• Travel Standard:  25%.
• Annual renewal of license to practice law in Georgia or other state(s).
• Must possess superb legal skills and expertise, business judgment, verbal, and written communication skills. 
• Must possess strong initiatives as well as excellent management, teamwork, delegation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to effectively communicate with legal and business clients. 
• Must be able to interact effectively with foreign clients who are not familiar with the U.S. legal system and issues. 
• Must be able to come up with creative legal solutions to further the company’s business and strategic objectives.
