Assistant General Counsel
This position can be filled at any of the following levels, dependent on the experience of the selected applicant.
Level IV (1681) - $90,000.00 Per year + full State benefits plan
Level V (1682) - $100,000.00 Per year + full State benefits plan
Minimum Qualifications:
Level IV: Active membership in the State Bar of Oklahoma and five (5) years experience in the practice of law including two (2) years in trial or administrative law. No substitution will be allowed for active membership in the State Bar of Oklahoma.
Level V: Active membership in the State Bar of Oklahoma, and ten (10) years experience in the practice of law, including five (5) years experience with OKDHS or a related agency or field with two (2) years experience in trial or administrative law.
Job Responsibilities

• Attend court hearings on behalf of the agency and the ward.
• Prepare reports to the court on the status of individuals who are placed in the custody of the Public Guardianship Program.
• Prepare reports to the court; attend court hearings, reporting on the status of persons being served through the Public Guardianship Program.
• Provide oversight and decision-making on the placement and services for individuals in the Public Guardianship Program.
• Serve as liaison for the Public Guardianship Program and other governmental, public & private agencies, institutions & organizations for each individual being served in the Public Guardianship Program.
• Respond to ward's and family's needs as they arise.
• Draft policy, and proposed legislation, create and present training for staff inside and outside of Oklahoma Human Services.
• Supervise Programs Field Representatives and legal assistants and provide information and training.
• Will work on a diverse team and directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
