Assistant Field Grower Description

Our client, in the wholesale nursery industry, is looking for an Assistant Field Grower to add to their team in North of Indianapolis. You will be responsible for assisting the field operation manager in the day-to-day operations of 850+ acres of nursery tree production. Nursery tree production includes shade, ornamental, and evergreen trees. This position involves hands-on work in the field, assisting with the cultivation, maintenance, and harvesting of plant products. You will work closely with the field operation manager to ensure the health and quality of our plants, implementing best practices in plant care and field management. To be successful in this role, you must have a high level of knowledge and experience in field production. Assistant Field Grower Responsibilities

   Assist the field operation manager with day-to-day operations
   Assist in all aspects of plant cultivation
   Monitor plant health and growth, identifying and addressing any issues with pests or diseases
   Collaborate with the Head Grower to implement cultivation plans and schedules
   Help manage field operations, including equipment maintenance and inventory management
   Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and implement better cultivation techniques
   Ensure adherence to safety standards and protocols in the field
   Participate in staff training and development initiatives as required

Assistant Field Grower Qualifications

   3+ years of field production experience required
   Knowledge of plant health, soil science, and cultivation techniques required
   Experience operating agricultural equipment required
   Willing and Able to work outside in all weather conditions required
