Assistant Farm Worker-Student Internship

POSITION SUMMARY: This position involves maintaining the Cooper Ag Center and farm directly supervised by Cooper Ag Farm Manager. This is a 6 month job. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure safety procedures are followed and personal protective equipment is utilizedProperty weed controlWatering fieldsFertilize fieldsPlanting fieldsBaling fieldsLivestock care and feedingSecurity of the premises while workingMaintenance of equipmentKeeping roads maintainedFencing maintainedSmall pivot repairCleaning up debris or other things that would tarnish the look of the Cooper Ag CenterPutting lists together of items needed and giving to the Farm ManagerStudent Assistant will not cut nor mow the farm fields QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: Must be 17 years old or older.Continuously follows safety procedures & utilizes personal protective equipmentGood organizational skills and attention to detail.Good communication skills; listening, following directions, and speaking.Ability to lift 50 lbs.
