Assistant Facility Security Officer

POSITION SUMMARY

The ideal candidate will provide multi-disciplined security support and perform duties as an Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO). Study and make suggestions for the implementation of Federal security regulations that apply to company operations. Will provide briefing to program personnel relative to security education. Assist the Facility Security Officer (FSO) in the day-to-day security administration and operations for a cleared facility under the National Industrial Security Program. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Serve as a Point of Contact for personnel security matters, supported by FSO.

· Perform personnel security clearance maintenance in DCSA information systems.

· Assist with processing personnel clearance applications for company employees.

· Provide assistance and guidance to employees seeking help on personal issues, potentially affecting their clearance.

· Assist with the onboarding of cleared employees, to include obtaining all applicable security paperwork.

· Conduct and track foreign travel briefings and debriefings for cleared personnel.

· Understand and provide guidance to employees around the security operation processes and procedures.

· Provide initial security overview presentation during new hire orientation and participate in annual security refresher training.

· Investigate and report security violations in collaboration with management to develop appropriate corrective actions.

· Assist with required annual self-inspections of security program, resolve possible security violations, and initiate measures to correct security deficiencies.

· Assist in preparing security policies, procedures, forms, and agreements.

· Understand and apply current security practices and enhance personal security knowledge via training, meetings, and security-related memberships.

· Manage facility visit process including visit requests, visitor sign-in process, and escorting visitors as needed.

· Review and complete questionnaires/forms from Government agencies and prime contractors that cover information related to DFARS, FOCI, Cyber Security, Facility Security, Personnel Security, Telecommunications, Sensitive Data, Government Reporting, and Government Registrations.

EDUCATION:

· Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; or 5-8 years of relevant security experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· Must be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. Citizenship is a pre-requisite).

· Ability to research security-related topics and summarize findings, while providing innovative solutions.

· Teamwork and collaborative approach to the execution of the security program.

· Willingness to learn new skills.

· Detail oriented.

· Excellent communication skills.

· Strong research skills.

· Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, OneNote, and PowerPoint).

· Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive can-do attitude and considered a self-starter.

· Ability to manage changing priorities and deadlines.

· Ability to work independently and follow projects through to completion.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· 2+ years’ Industrial Security experience with government contractor(s).

· General Knowledge of 32 CFR § 117 (NISPOM).

· Experience working with DCSA information systems (e.g., DISS, NISS, NBIS, SWFT).

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
