Overview: Our teachers must firmly believe that demographics do not determine destiny and all children can succeed if they have access to a high-quality education. Teachers are held accountable by the Head of School and Instructional Lead in regard to their performance and growth, student achievement, and quality of the curriculum. Teachers are entrusted with advancing the mission of the school through the development and implementation of a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum, responsiveness to feedback provided and collaboration with the Instructional Lead on areas of instructional and/or curricular need at the school.

Responsibilities

• Embody & Elan Academy's mission, vision, and LEADER values;
• Participate in annual four-week staff orientation and training;
• Support with material preparation for lessons.
• Support with parent communication.
• Support with behavior management.
• Provide small group reading instruction.
• Provide small group math instruction.
• Participate in grade-level activities and school-wide functions;
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues;
• Be accountable for students' mastery of academic standards;
• Support the lead teacher's instruction by monitoring student progress and behavior

Suggested Qualifications

• Strong commitment to, belief in, and alignment with mission and vision of school;
• Mastery of and enthusiasm for academic subjects;
• Proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom or comparable results in current field;
• Ability to approach situations with optimism and perseverance;
