Assistant DPW Director

The Town of Westford Department of Public Works is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant DPW Director. Under the direction of the DPW Director, this position will be responsible for the management and operation of the Town's Highway, Parks & Grounds, and Cemetery Divisions and related functions, including public way infrastructure and right-of-way maintenance and repair, parks and public grounds maintenance, cemetery operations and maintenance, snow and ice operations, drainage, and public shade trees; all other related work as required. Thorough knowledge of public works operations, construction practices and techniques, construction safety policies and regulations, and snow and ice removal practices required. Must have the ability to plan, assign, and supervise work. Must be available to respond to emergencies.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field, 8 to 10 years of experience in public works construction and maintenance, and 3 to 5 years of significant management/supervisory experience or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that may be taken into consideration. The starting salary is $94,146 to $125,000 depending on experience and qualifications. Position will remain open until filled.
