ASSISTANT HUB MANAGER

We are a growing company, currently seeking hard-working, dependable individuals to join Grimco. Grimco is a national wholesale sign supply manufacturer and distributor that has been around for over 145 years with 50+ locations in the United States, 8 in Canada, and recent expansion into the United Kingdom. Assistant Hub Managers are critical members of our team. The position is designed to assist the Hub Manager in all tasks that will make the overall operation run in a clean, safe, and efficient manner. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Monitors shipping and receiving reporting, Daily Distro and Production
  • Maintains an equipment structure and level to accomplish the warehouse and shipping and receiving mission in a safe, effective manner.

  • Provides appropriate equipment and racking to ensure safe transport and storage of material.
  • Perform duties using a safety-conscious attitude, improving safety knowledge of all employees.
  • Motivate by example - partner with warehouse employees to perform daily activities, and continuously improve performance. Teamwork is key!
  • Communicate effectively and positively with customers, coworkers, vendors, etc.
  • Review BI reports and investigate and strategize based on the reports to achieve operational strategy.
  • Assist the Hub Manager with interviews and training.
  • Accountable to Key Performance Indicators in quality, productivity, and service
  • Computer literate: Printing tickets, UPS WorldShip, IBM’s AS/400 data management system, MS Office Suite, email, internet navigation
  • Perform other assigned duties that are within the area of knowledge and skills required by the job.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 – 10 years management experience in Distribution environment.
  • College degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Be willing to complete a criminal background check.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Requires the ability to lift, push, pull and carry tools and warehouse materials weighing 70+ pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Requires prolonged standing or walking, frequent bending, stooping, and reaching daily.
  • Requires the ability to climb ladders to pick or put away products.
  • Requires a full range of physical motion to operate manual and electrically powered tools and machines (i.e., forklift)
