Assistant Director of Special Programs for Brandywine Counseling and Community Services

As the Assistant Director of Special Programs, you will:
  • Ensure that the designated behavioral health care treatment environment and Special Programs is recovery focused with active participant participation.
  • Be responsible for implementing clinical strategies for program development (therapeutic techniques); peer support services, and continual quality improvement.
  • Lead the clinical practices and objectives that will provide a high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, goal attainment, and the infusion of EBP.
  • Promote and operate in a recovery orientated/trauma informed manner, ensuring that all individuals receiving services in all of the programs are treated with dignity and respect.
  • Work closely with administrative staff, directors and program managers at designated sites to provide statewide presence and awareness, ensuring all project activities are well planned and implemented successfully.
  • Responsible for directing, developing, and coordinating the activities and events relative to the designated programs/projects to ensure achievement of program goals and objectives.
  • Serve as the Special Programs and clinical expert, providing leadership and subject matter expertise to create and deliver an agency wide consistency pertaining to Special Programs, wellness, prevention, and treatment services.
  • Create a welcoming and healing environment by providing quality, sufficient, and appropriate services and maintaining high professional standards.
  • Perform organizational assessments: assist the Director of treatment in creating, planning, and implementing the results of the organizational assessments that focus on peer support and behavioral health services.
  • Be responsible for staying informed, disseminating, and implementing relevant program requirements, evidence-based practices, and skills required by staff for high quality, effective performance and adherence to standards bodies defined as contracts, licensure, and joint commission.
  • Provide regular reports (progress or deficiencies) and any specially requested reports by Director of Treatment Services, CEO, CFO, and any other designated administrative and/or fiscal personnel. This includes participation in researching, writing, and submissions of grants.
  • Provide monthly reports to DOT on designated programs performance along with corrective action plan for deficiencies.
  • Identifies, selects, manages, and designs internal trainings as necessary to meet training needs.
  • Coordinate program strategies, activities, and events with relevant personnel. Develop ideas, processes, and procedures in accordance with the prescribed strategies, activities, goals, and objectives in the approved scope of services.
  • Supervise and evaluate staff via daily observation, quarterly KPI and annual staff performance reviews, administer corrective action, terminate, hire, and address grievances of clinical services area for staff including program managers and consultants within designated sites.

Qualifications for the position:
  • REQUIRED: Master's degree in psychology, sociology, social work, counseling, nursing or related field.
  • REQUIRED: 6 years of clinical experience in human services, 3 of which shall be in substance abuse treatment services.
  • REQUIRED: 5 years' experience of supervising 10+ employees.
  • REQUIRED: CADC
  • PREFERRED: CCDP, LPC, or LCSW

Schedule:
  • Monday - Friday
  • 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
