Assistant Director of Medical Student Admissions

Posting Summary:Under the leadership of the Larner College of Medicine Associate Dean of Admissions, lead and direct the Office of Medical Student Admission (MSA) operations that help attract applicants from all campuses to the LCOM. Represent the Larner College of Medicine to both internal and external entities in support of university enrollment management objectives and all admissions related activities including interview day, Second Look Weekend, Closer Look Day and other recruitment events and visits from prospective students. Liaise and work closely with current Medical Students (e.g., student ambassadors) to engage them in the College’s admissions efforts and various other recruitment events.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience):Bachelor’s degree required as well as two to four years related experience required. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to exercise discretion, diplomacy, and confidentiality.
Desirable Qualifications:Working knowledge of university and college academic policies, academic records, and available student resources.
Prior experience in higher education.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.Project management skills.
Bargaining unit position, A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy, External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), Background Check required for this position
