Assistant Director of AlumniAnnual Giving

The University of Tennessee Foundation, Inc (UTFI) invites applications and nominations to fill the position of Assistant Director of AlumniAnnual Giving for the UT Institute for Agriculture (UTIA). Reporting to the Director of Alumni and Annual Giving, the Assistant Director of AlumniAnnual Giving directly oversees all of UTIA’s Annual Giving programs, including direct mail appeals, Big Orange Give, special solicitations and new appeal programs, first-time donor initiatives, and the Family Campaign. This position will also work closely with the Director of Alumni and Annual Giving to create leadership giving levels and recognition.  

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Annual Giving:

  • Serve as the primary organizer and point-of-contact for Annual Giving campaigns, such as Big Orange Give and the UTIA Family Campaign.
  • Coordinate all marketing and communications in support of campaigns and events.
  • Collaborate with UTFI Digital Strategy & Innovation to coordinate digital marketing and engagement needs.
  • Assist in setting goals and tracking progress of campaigns.

UTIA Telefund:

  • Coordinate the telefund program, in conjunction with UT Knoxville advancement team.
  • Set goals for telefund student workers (daily, weekly, semester, annual).
  • Develop a donor segmentation/calling strategy and partner with Annual Giving program staff to create efficiencies and new opportunities to engage new donors.

Fundraising:

  • Manage a small Annual Giving portfolio that solicits for the annual leadership programs.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

The candidate who fills the Assistant Director of AlumniAnnual Giving position is required to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three or more years of experience in fundraising, sales, non-profit, communication, event management, or related role
  • Computer skills, including Word and Excel; including ability to create/use formulas in Excel
  • Creative writing experience; capable of writing copy for appeals and special donor segments
  • Previous experience supervising student workers, volunteers, and/or interns

 

Preferred Education and Experience

In addition to meeting the required qualifications, the preferred candidate will have:

  • Master’s degree
  • 4 or more years of fundraising or related experience
  • Advanced computer skills, including Word and Excel
  • Advanced leadership experience
  • Software experience, i.e. CRM/Salesforce and iModules
