Assistant Director for Compliance (Audit & Compliance Officer 1 - MR10)

The Assistant Director for Compliance assists the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance in all aspects of NCAA compliance operations. 

Primary Responsibilities:

Assists Associate Athletic Director for Compliance with institution's NCAA compliance operations with emphasis in the following areas:

• Updating and monitoring student-athlete information in NCAA Eligibility Center, NCAA Compliance
• Assistant, ARMS and Banner
• Supervision of National Letter of Intent program
• Annual coaches' recruiting test/certifications
• Recruiting processes and forms including NCAA transfer clearinghouse, verification of transfer academic year in residence, campus visits (official and unofficial)
• Assistance at Player Pass Gate for home football games

Monitors initial eligibility and amateurism certification of incoming student-athletes with NCAA Eligibility Center including:

•       Sending head coaches or designee weekly progress reports
•       Communicating with coaches and/or incoming student-athletes any issues with initial eligibility and/or amateurism

Enhances Compliance Education with the following constituents:

•       Athletics Personnel (coaches, athletics staff, student-athletes, managers, directors of operations, and volunteers)
•       Records, Financial Aid, and Admissions compliance liaisons 
•       Boosters/Fans

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

•       Knowledge of NCAA rules & regulations
•       Knowledge of NCAA Compliance Assistant and LSDBI
•       Knowledge of ARMS Compliance software
•       Knowledge of Banner
•       Knowledge of Southern Conference rules, regulations, policies & procedures
•       Familiarity with commercial compliance tracking software  
•       Must possess strong communications skills, both oral and written
•       Ability to maintain positive relationships constituencies to provide excellent customer service
•       Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and meet deadlines

Minimum Qualifications: Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and one year of relevant experience of NCAA compliance, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A valid driver's license is required.

Preferred Qualifications: A Master's or JD degree, 1-3 years of NCAA compliance experience within the previous 5 years (internships experience included), and NCAA compliance experience at a NCAA Division 1 institution or conference level is preferred.
