- Salary: $55,000 - $65,000
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages living fish, invertebrates and herpetological collection
- Responsible for overall husbandry, exhibits, and life support systems and associate programs
- Responsible for all fish, invertebrate, and herp acquisitions
- Supervise aquarist staff and manage all aquarist policies and procedures
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Zoology or related field (life experience may be a substitute)
- Minimum of 7 years in animal husbandry, with a minimum of 4 years supervisory experience
- Complete knowledge of all phases of animal husbandry programs, systems design, physical life support operations, and exhibit design and display techniques
- Thorough knowledge of the principles of zoology and biology
- Advanced level of S.C.U.B.A. training preferred
- Experience with field collecting preferred
- Current member of professional organizations, including AZA.
- Proficient in a variety of computer software applications
- Experience with ZIMS record keeping preferred
- Must be organized and self-motivated, with an eagerness to complete all projects
- Must be willing to participate in public education and interaction
- Must be prepared to work odd or unscheduled hours.
