We're looking for a Assistant Corporate Controller
Hybrid position.
Responsibilities:
- Perform month-end close process including, but not limited to:
- closing the general ledger,
- recording Journal entries,
- account reconciliations and analyses.
- Revenue recognition
- Cost accounting and inventory analysis
- Prepare monthly and quarterly report submissions.
- Prepare consolidation elimination entries.
- Perform ad hoc assignments and special projects related to finance areas, including, but not limited to analysis/reconciliations and summary evaluations of GL accounts, inventory, deferred revenue, sales transactions, etc.
- Prepare written documentation including procedural descriptions, reports of findings, etc.
- Able to supervise daily activities of finance staff.
- Assist in annual external audit.
- Able to prepare financial statements and footnotes.
- Able to improve accounting and transaction processing, including JDE related processes, for increased accuracy, efficiency and timeliness.
- Able to establish and maintain appropriate financial policies and procedures for corporate finance functions.
- Able to create strategies to improve operational efficiencies throughout the organization to add to the overall profitability.
- Able to serve as a liaison with corporate personnel to provide business unit insight and support in answering corporate inquiries.

The experience and skills we value:
- Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience. CPA a plus.
- The minimum requirement is six years of Audit/General accounting/Internal controls experience.
- At least 3 years of Big 4 public Audit experience and/or at least 3 years of private accounting in a manufacturing environment in a position of comparable responsibility are preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of US GAAP. Must have results oriented mindset and strong analytical skills required.
- Excellent communication skills required. Well-developed computer skills required, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, with focus on JD Edwards (ERP).
- Financial statement reviews and analysis
What will put you ahead:
- Detailed working knowledge of accounting functions in a distribution/manufacturing environment
- Working experience with JDE systems at a transaction processing level
- Experience with implementation of JDE systems.
- Requires strong analytical, reasoning, and judgment abilities. Must possess the ability to be an independent problem solver.
- Must be collaborative and be able to deal with complexity.
- Experience in credit techniques and security devices i.e. international banking procedures and documentation, Letters of Credit, financing instruments, credit insurance experience.
